When the rainbow is enough
Theatre for Change presents a collection of thought provoking monologues by women across ages and social divides!
" When the rainbow is enough", inspired by the African American playwright Ntozake Shange, is a set of compelling personal stories of women across age class and gender who have weathered the storm and seen sunshine. Stories shared with immense conviction, courage, pride and honesty. After seventeen successful shows across the globe, Theatre for Change represented India at the fourth Kenyan International Theatre Festival in Nairobi in November 2019. This cultural exchange resulted in local actors wanting to share their personal stories that reflect the power of stories. They believe every story has a soul and message and that it needs to be told, heard and counted. They are all set to represent the country again in April 2020 at the International Theatre Festival of Southern Youth in Egypt to strike a conversation with the youth on culturally stigmatized topics to move towards an egalitarian society.
Women's struggles are universal and through their shows, they connect with the community across the world as a shared humanity that reiterates they're not alone in this journey of struggles. A very important segment of the play is the interactive Q&A session that initiates a community dialogue on topics seldom addressed.
